A good actor helps an idea become an achievement. Their sole purpose will be to embrace their characters. An invested actor will pave the way for an open line of communication between the maker’s intentions and their own understanding.

Sony Entertainment Television is all set to launch a new period drama - Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. The show is set in the backdrop of pre Independence era i.e Lahore, 1947. It’s a multi-star cast show and for the same, a number of popular and renowned actors have been roped in to play critical characters. Amongst them, we have the ever-versatile actor Ashish Kaul!

Veteran actor Ashish Kaul needs no introduction! He has acted in multiple TV shows and Bollywood movies since 2001. Keeping in mind his impeccable line of work and the audience’s love that he has garnered over the years, Ashish Kaul was considered a befitting choice to essay such a pivotal character in the show.

In the show, Ashish Kaul would be essaying the role of Rai Dada, father of Randhir, that’s portrayed by actor Zaan Khan. Rai Dada is a devoted father and an accomplished businessman. He’s a media person who owns and handles the operations of a press. As Khaandaani as it gets, he adorns a pagdi along with a three-piece suit that compliments his aura in the show.

Sharing his excitement on being a part of the show, Ashish Kaul said, “My role in the show is of an encouraging and understanding father. He respects his children’s decisions and has modern thinking. I’d say that I can relate to the character because I am very much like that. Moreover, I have worked with Yash Tonk and Pranalli Rathod before, so there’s a sense of familiarity there. Even though it’s only been a month of shooting, all of us have gelled really well. On most days, it doesn’t even feel like we’re working. However, the most cherish-able part of it all is the nostalgia that’s associated with the show’s theme. It’s unlike what I’ve ever done before, so I am super excited to see how our viewers take it.”

Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye went on-air from 25th January.
