Ashiesh Roy signs a new film!

Ashiesh Roy will soon be seen in a new film...

The New Year has started with a bang for Ashiesh Roy. Not only has his two-timing character Ashok in the Star Plus soap Mere Angne Mein' become popular with the audience, but the talented actor has signed his third film with Diya Productions titled Dil Jo Na Keh Saka,' whose shooting commences from the 10th of March.

Speaking about the film and his character in it, Ashiesh Roy, looking visibly excited had this to tell us. "It is a nice romantic story about two best friends, Himansh Kohli and Priya Bannerji, who are actually in love with each other, but almost never tell each other as they don't want to lose their "friendship"! I play a hotel management teacher in the film, who is also facing a similar love crisis in the film, and I play a catalyst in barring the hero from telling his real feelings to the heroine. It's an interesting cameo".

Ashiesh, who leaves for location tomorrow,  candidly admits that his decision to do the film solely depended on the fact that the shoot is in Shimla. "We have grown up on some great movies shot in this quaint, scenic location. And the temptation to be part of one was irresistible! I said "yes" before even hearing the script!"

After making a terrific debut in the Emraan Hashmi, Paresh Rawal film Raja Natwarlal' last year, and following up with his lovely role in Barkhaa', Dil Jo Na Keh Saka' is Ashiesh's third film, and he promises that he shall be appreciated in this film as well. He says he's looking forward to working with his old mates Manoj Pahwa, Navni Parihar, Farida Dadi, Kenny Desai and Deepika Amin, all of whom he has worked with on television. "It is great that television actors are now being more and more a part of mainstream cinema. The gap between the two mediums has now become negligible! We television artistes are good actors, and more and more filmmakers are noticing that! These are exciting times!"

Signing off, Ashiesh is all praises for the first time director Naresh Lalwani. "Naresh may be a first timer, but his passion is unmatchable. He is living and breathing this film. His spirit is infectious. We are all going to make sure that he has a good film in his hands!" The film is aiming at a July release this year, and we wish Ashiesh the very best for it.
