Everyone is familiar with the struggles Arjun Kapoor had to face before his Bollywood debut with Habib Faizal’s Ishaqzaade opposite Parineeti Chopra. From his inspiring weight loss stories to losing his mother just before the release of his first film, the actor has openly talked about his struggles.

From playing roles like Parma from Ishaqzaade or Bala from Gunday, that showcased a character with grey shades, to playing goody-two-shoes in 2 States or a fierce officer in India’s Most Wanted, for the past seven years, the 34-year-old actor has played various roles. However, he has never played the role of a full-fledged villain.

Looks like this dream of many might come true.

A recent report from Bollywood Hungama stated that Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri are planning a sequel for their 2014 hit Ek Villain that starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh. While the crime-thriller showcased Riteish as a psycho cold-blooded serial killer, who preys on innocent women, the sequel might showcase Arjun stepping into the shoes of a villain.

But it looks like Sidharth Malhotra, who has delivered a few flops in the past few months, would continue with his lead role in Ek Villain’s sequel as the antagonist’s role has proven to be a scene-stealer in the first film. The same is the case with the Dhoom series where every major star wants to play the antagonist.

A source, as quoted by Bollywood Hungama, states that, Ekta Kapoor wants to turn Ek Villain into her production house’s Dhoom franchise. The problem here is who will play the formal hero when the villain has the author-backed role?”

With director Mohit Suri who has already worked with Arjun in the screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Half Girlfriend, it will be interesting to watch how this movie plans out. On the work front, Arjun who was last seen in Raj Kumar Gupta’s India’s Most Wanted, will be seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat alongside Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt.
