'Apne bete ko pav pe kyu nahi khada kar paye sir…' Samay Raina takes a dig at Amitabh Bachchan

During his recent 'Still Alive' show, stand-up comedian Samay Raina playfully roasted Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Raina recounted his appearance on Big B's Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2025, revealing he had previously deceived the actor by claiming his grandmother was a significant admirer of Bachchan's work.

"Dadi mar gayi hai meri. 7 saal ho gaye hain mere dadi ko mar ke," he said, as quoted by the Free Press Journal. "Waha maine kiya - Sir dadi meri aapki bhot badi fan hai," he added and then revealed that he had said it only to "play the room." "You are not honest on the Indian internet. You can not be yourself. You play the game, you play the room," Samay shared.

"Main samajhta tha, KBC mein jab ja raha tha, ki main har jagah h*rami banta hoon, yaha clean banunga na to log bolenge what a versatile creator," Samay said further.

Samay Raina revealed he held back several jokes during his KBC appearance, sharing one he spared: "Sir, aapne itna polio ka ad kiya, phir bhi apne bete ko paon pe kyu nahi khada kar paye sir." He admitted having plenty of "ulta seedha" thoughts on the hot seat.

Samay Raina explained that playing a clean character doesn't suit him, as he typically portrays a jokester who speaks his mind. He referenced an incident at India's Got Latent where BeerBiceps (Ranveer Allahbadia) faced backlash for breaking his clean image, saying, "Non-vegetarian veg kha sakta hai, vegetarian non-veg khayega ulti hi karega."

Digital creator Samay Raina joined the likes of Tanmay Bhat and Bhuvan Bam on Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 (KBC 16) in late January 2025.

In February of the previous year, Samay's program, India's Got Latent, encountered controversy because of a query posed by Ranveer Allahbadia, a guest on the show. Subsequently, numerous FIRs were lodged against Samay, Ranveer, and others, leading to the removal of all show episodes from YouTube.
