Apna Time Bhi Aayega on Zee TV is a show that tries to delve deeper into the class discrimination that exists in the country. It features Fahmaan Khan and Anushka Sen in the lead roles along with an ensemble cast of some of the finest actors. The show is a wave of freshness to the screens as far as daily soaps are concerned and put things to perspective at more than just one level.

We got in touch with Fahmaan aka Veer. Read excerpts from the interview here.

What prompted you to take up the role in Apna Time Bhi Aaega?

To be honest, I did have two choices in hand, but I chose to do Apna time Bhi Aayega. The story of this show, the character, and the fact that the writer was Mr. Ved Raj, really sealed the deal for me.

Please describe your character details.

Veer Pratap Singh Rajawat, is exactly the opposite of who I am in real life. I had to work on this character from scratch.  From the speech to the body language and also reacting only with emotions, was something I had to work on. Veer is royal, yet very modern. He is tough and stern but also has an emotional side to him, which he doesn't express too much. Even when he fights, it's different. It’s not street fighting. His emotional side is only expressed or felt when he is alone or sometimes with his father. But on the whole, his emotions are quite controlled.

How much do you relate to the character?

I’m trying to relate to him completely at this point, because if I don't, then I cannot do justice to the character. I will not be able to express any of his emotions entirely if I do not relate to Veer. But like I said, there were a lot of things that had to be worked on, to get Veer right. It’s a process and you learn along the way. Having said that, I hope I’m doing justice to the character.

How is it working with the ensemble cast of the show?

It's a wonderful experience. Everybody is so much fun. They are patient and friendly with each other, because of which the day goes by so smoothly. Good actors are vital for any show to reach heights and I believe we've got the right team going for us.

A special mention to the director of our show, Mr. Vaibhav Singh. He is the calmest amongst us all and the most fun. He keeps the mood so light on set. It's essential for the director to lead from the front and he does that effortlessly.

Share your bond with the co-stars. Who is your buddy on sets?

Each one is my buddy on set. I talk to everybody and have a good laugh about random things with everyone. From lightmen to dops to co-actors to the spot department and the background artists, each person on set is family and I like to keep it that way.
