Violence against animals has spiked rapidly since some time. Now another horrifying story about the death of a pregnant elephant has come out.

It all started after a forest officer narrated the death of a pregnant elephant who died in Kerala’s Silent Valley Forest. He revealed that she faced one of the most brutal forms of animal abuse.

“It is certain that she was offered the pineapple filled with crackers to eliminate her," Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden Surendrakumar said in a statement.

Anushka Sharma shared a screen-shot of the news clip and said, “This is why we need harsher LAWS against animal cruelty!!”

Apart from that, several Bollywood celebrities have come forward to demand strict action against the culprits who fed a pregnant wild elephant a cracker laced pineapple that caused her death in a river in Kerala's Silent Valley Forest.

Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, among others took to social media to share their anger and shock about the ghastly act of cruelty.

Randeep Hooda took to his Twitter handle and urged the Kerala CM to take appropriate action. “An act most #inhumane to will fully feed a pineapple full of firecrackers to friendly wild pregnant #Elephant is just unacceptable...strict action should be taken against the culprits sir,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor seemed shocked by the reports and Tweeted,  “How?????? How can something like this happen??? Do people not have hearts??? My heart has shattered and broken... The perpetrators need to be punished in the STRICTEST way.”
