Anushka Ranjan supports rape victims!

Anushka Ranjan, who made a striking debut with Wedding Pullav released last year, has been working tirelessly for rape victims.

Anushka Ranjan, who made a striking debut with Wedding Pullav released last year, has been working tirelessly for rape victims ever since 'BETI movement - A Charity For Women' started by her mother-social activist, Anu Ranjan, came into existence.

BETI movement was started in 2006 by Anu Ranjan and her daughter-actor Anushka Ranjan (BETI's brand ambassador) to redress the wrongs perpetrated on women to the utmost of their capacities.

Anushka is extremely sensitive when it comes to social issues related to women and likes giving back to the society. Taking the most upsetting example of Shabina Khan, who was raped by her own father, Anushka says, "You cannot help but want to cry and at the same time want the harshest punishment for the person who has committed this heinous crime, especially to their own daughters."

They try to make best use of social media to reach out to the needy and to create awareness about issues related to women. With each passing day, they are expanding their BETI family. They also get enquiries on social networking sites which are addressed by the team spontaneously.

Anushka ensures they are regularly in touch with them. She mostly spends time with the victims on weekends or whenever she's free.

"I'm glad we got Shabina a job at a parlour and she has managed to get her family a home. We are also taking care of her education simultaneously," adds Anushka.
