Rupali Ganguly, who is currently seen in Anupamaa continues to be remembered as Monisha from the popular show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. Ganguly had taken a break from television after becoming a mother as she wished to spend more time with her family. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress spoke about how she was questioned for her weight gain and also wondered why would someone judge others without knowing what are they keeping up with.

Rupali went on to reveal how she could not lactate enough for the child and therefore, she gained weight, which lead to people making nasty remarks. She said how she did everything she could and it is not like she could not lactate at all but that was not enough for the child. Since she ate everything she could, she gained weight and went from 58 kg to 86 kgs after delivering Rudransh.

She spoke about being body-shamed and said, “When I would take my child out for a walk.. where a certain neighbouring aunty whom I wouldn’t even know would say ‘arey tum Monisha hona, kitni moti ho gayi ho.!' Who gives anyone the right to judge a mother? Nobody knows the kind of issues a woman goes through”.

Among other things, Rupali also spoke about how Anupamaa has given her her due, and the credit goes to both the show as well as Rajan Shahi. She mentioned how the show is close to her heart because it makes her feel like her father is writing the script since he wrote such films. She added further how Anupama allows her to be herself and she is having a fun time while shooting outdoors. She added how there are people on the sets who are on diet and count how many spoons of dal did they have, and her journey as Anupamaa has been beautiful because it allows her to not be conscious of her body anymore since everyone loves the character she is portraying.

Pregnancy hits everyone differently and should be celebrated for the women who opt for it.
