Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff starrer Ramchand Kishanchand gets a release date!

Ram Lakhan, directed and produced by Subhash Ghai, is a crime drama. It is a story of two brothers and how they try to avenge the death of their father in their own different ways. The movie not only gave us many hit songs and dialogues, but it also gave us a unique jodi of Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. 

Yesterday we had informed that the hit jodi is all set to make a comeback on screen with another one of Subhash Ghai’s directorial. Apparently, it is a sequel to the 1989 hit movie Ram Lakhan, named Ramchand Kishanchand, and it revolves around 50-year-old cops. The movie is said to be a crime comedy. 

According to recent In.com reports, the project is set to go on floor on October 24. “The date is extremely special for Ghai as it marks the anniversary of Mukta Arts (Subhash Ghai’s production house),” informed the source. Apparently, even the release date of the movie is special to the director. “The film is slated to release on Subhash Ghai’s birthday.  There have been many films that the filmmaker released on his birthday. Since this is his comeback film he wants it to release on a special day which is his birthday, Jan 24,” the source added.

While original film starred Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit Nene as female leads, the sequel is yet to see the heroines getting finalized. Interestingly, this will be the 12th time Anil and Jackie will team up with each other for a film. The first film that teamed up the actors with each other was Andar Bahar (1984). Later on, they were seen in movies like Karma, Ram Lakhan, Kala Bazar, Parinda, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, 1942 A Love Story, Trimurti, Kabhi Na Kabhi, and Lajja.

Ramchand Kishanchand will mark the return of director Subhash Ghai after 5 years. His last directorial venture Kaanchi: The Unbreakable, starring Mishti and Kartik Aaryan released in 2014, flopped miserably on the box-office.

On the work front, Jackie Shroff was last seen in Bharat where he played the role of Salman Khan’s father; whereas Anil Kapoor was last seen in Total Dhamaal and is currently busy working for Malang and Pagalpanti.
