Angelica Ross, a Trans Actor of Color, Joins American Horror Story Family; Creates History!

American actress and businesswoman, Angelica Ross rose to fame with FX series Pose. Just a day after her character, Candy Ferocity was killed off in Pose, she announced her new project. The actress will be an integral part of the much-talked about regular series, American Horror Story’s ninth edition.

Angelica who is also a trans rights advocate, has created history as the first trans actor of colour to secure pivotal roles in two regular series - Pose and American Horror Story. “I am ELATED to make history as the first trans actor to secure 2 series regular roles, leaping from #PoseFX to #AHS1984. Thank you Mr R P Murphy for the gift of playing Candy & creating my newest role on American Horror Story! I’m so honored & excited to join the AHSFX family!!!” she tweeted.

Producer Ryan Murphy, also the co-creator of Pose, broke the news on his Instagram. “Though she will always be our Candy, and our show suffers this incredible loss, I am elated that the world will get much more Angelica,” he said. “She is joining the American Horror Story family in another unforgettable role,” he wrote.
