Ananya Panday Defends Sanjay Kapoor’s ‘Dress Will Fall’ comment!

Currently, Ananya Panday has been making it to the headlines for her work and offering strength to the people who have been victims of bullying. The actress has stood up to bullying with her initiative ‘So Positive’. 

In a previous interview, she also mentioned that social media, though so powerful, can also be a negative breeding ground. Trolling, in particular, is something which needs to be done with. 

Meanwhile, she faced a similar instance in her personal life and it was none other than her bestie Shanaya Kapoor’s father Sanjay Kapoor who tried mocking her in a post. Rather, Ananya handled it with utmost grace and tried to keep her calm as she tried to cover up for him.

It all happened on October 5, 2019, when Ananya was ready to grace Elle Awards 2019. before the event, like always, she posted pictures after getting ready. On one of the pictures, Sanjay commented, "The dress is going to fall be careful @ananyapanday.” 

However, the comment did not go down well with the netizens who trolled him for it and called his statement, ‘insensitive’ and ‘disturbing.’ Here is the post on which Sanjay had commented.

Now that it has been more than 2 months that the topic went untouched and neither Ananya nor Sanjay spoke about the controversy or reacted to it. However, during Ananya’s discussion with SpotboyE, the Pati, Patni Aur Woh actress shared her opinion about the same.

I didn’t want to add to it and get unnecessary attention. Sanjay uncle is Shanaya’s father for me, and of course, he was joking about it. People take out wrong meaning in anything and everything. If I spoke about it, it would have blown even further. I don’t believe in spreading negativity by reacting to trolls. His intention was surely not wrong and he did not mean it in a negative way.

Ananya seems to be mature than she is, and she did handle the question gracefully.
