Television actress Amrapali Gupta is back on screen and is once again winning attention with a negative role. After Rabb Se Hai Dua ended on December 2, 2024, the actress returned to Colors TV with Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki, where she is currently leading the villain track.
Amrapali first entered the show as Samragyi. However, after a major time leap in the storyline, things changed. With Mona Vasu's character Aishwarya exiting the show, Amrapali stepped into the primary negative role.
Taking over a role that has already been established is not easy, and the actress admitted it comes with both excitement and responsibility.
“Taking over a role someone else made famous is equal parts thrill and terror for me,” she says. “There’s pride in earning the part, but also pressure to honor what came before while making it your own. When it works, it feels like you’ve pulled off a high-wire act without a net.”
This is not the first time Amrapali has entered a show as a replacement. The actress recalled one of her earlier experiences where she stepped into an existing role and received appreciation from viewers. “I remember I was a replacement in Qabool Hai and my role is remembered by audience until today,” she adds.

Amrapali Calls Reinterpreting A Role The Toughest Kind Of Acting
For Amrapali, stepping into a role that has already been portrayed by someone else requires a careful balance. She believes an actor must respect the previous performance while also bringing something unique to the character.
“I always believed stepping into shoes already worn is the hardest kind of acting. You have to respect the ghost, then exorcise it,” she explains, inspired by Jeremy Irons’ take on reinterpreting roles. “If you can take what’s there and still bleed your own truth into it, that’s not theft — that’s craft. I'm giving my best to it and rest is upon our audience.”
As she takes on this new challenge in Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki, Amrapali remains focused on delivering her best performance and leaving the final judgment to the viewers.
Away from the television screens, the actress enjoys spending time with her family. Amrapali is married to actor Yash Sinha, her co-star from Teen Bahuraaniyaan. The couple got married on November 28, 2012, and are parents to a son, Kabir.
Speaking about her personal life, Amrapali shared, “My husband and son are my greatest joy. We also love to travel whenever Yash isn’t shooting. It gives us a chance to unwind and create memories.”
Balancing Acting, Family Life And Her Passion For Cooking
Apart from acting, Amrapali also dedicates time to her YouTube channel, Amrapali’s Kitchen. Through the platform, she shares quick and health-conscious recipes with her audience.
Talking about the experience, she said, “That process is truly thrilling. It keeps me active, creative, and positive.”
Over the years, Amrapali has built a successful career in the television industry. Her journey started with theatre in her hometown before she made her debut on DD National with Khushiyan.
Since then, she has appeared in more than 30 television shows. Some of her notable projects include Teen Bahuraaniyaan, Ishqbaaaz, Bahu Begum, and Tujhse Hai Raabta. Through these shows, she has established herself as one of television's most recognizable faces.
Now, with Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki, Amrapali has once again taken on a powerful negative character. As the story continues to unfold, viewers will see her playing an important role in the ongoing drama.
Looking back at her career, family life, and personal passions, the actress expressed gratitude for the balance she has found in life.
“I’m grateful for a life that balances work, family, and passion so beautifully,” she signs off.
