India’s current Covid-19 situation has raised concerns. While the nation is reeling with the crippling health care infrastructure, many Bollywood celebrities are helping people by providing medical supplies, food and more.

As reported earlier, Ajay Devgn collaborated with Thank God and Big Bull producer, Anand Pandit to build a Covid-19 facility that boasted 20 beds. They reportedly sought support from Amitabh Bachchan too as the senior actor is always very positive for any noble work.

Anand Pandit reportedly informed that a Covid-19 care centre with 25 bed-capacity and oxygen availability, helped set up by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, began its operations in Juhu on Tuesday.

The filmmaker maintained that the Hindi cinema veteran provided the Juhu-based Ritambhara Vishva Vidyapeeth facility with necessary equipment and infrastructure.

Pandit said that the centre was up and running by 10 am on Tuesday, May 18 after a trial run. Apart from donating the equipment and infrastructure for the facility, Bachchan also helped with the necessary permissions which have been granted by the BMC.

Earlier, in his blog on May 16, the Chehre actor had said that the 25-bed centre should be up and running by Tuesday taking into account the aftereffects of the Cyclone Tauktae.

The recent reports suggest that Pandit is scouting more locations to set up another facility in suburban Borivali.

Amitabh Bachchan has donated around Rs 15 crore in the country's fight against the coronavirus pandemic including contributions to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur COVID Care Centre at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and a diagnostic centre at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi.

Recently, he also brought 50 oxygen concentrators from Poland 'in our hour of need'. The actor shared the recent development through his blog post and wrote that oxygen concentrators have also been ordered from another source, adding that 'about 60 of them should be coming in in a few days'.
