Ameesha Patel opens up on 'Gadar 2' & hoping it gets the same love 'Gadar' did

Actor Ameesha Patel might be extremely sporadic with her film roles right now but one would not forget the rage she was in the 2000s. Patel made her debut with Kaho Na... Pyaar Hai which was a monstrous success and followed it up with a bigger blockbuster in the form of Gadar - Ek Prem Katha.

And now after over two decades, we also know that Patel and Sunny Deol are returning with the sequel to the their film in the form of Gadar 2 which will also be directed by the same director of Gadar, Anil Sharma. Patel, who reprises her role of Sakina opened up one the same in an interview with ETimes.

Patel said, “Tara and Sakina, the iconic characters of Gadar are back. Its a take off from where we left the original story. If Gadar was the story till the proverbial interval then Gadar 2 is what happens post interval”.

She further added, “It’s a continuation of the story and it's got all the emotions, music, high drama and comedy, too. I just hope the audiences give us as much love and appreciation as they had with Gadar”.

Apart from Deol and Patel, the film will also star their son from original Gadar - Utkarsh Sharma, who is grown up now in an important role.Sharma is also the real life son of director Anil Sharma.
