Netflix recently created a buzz by releasing the captivating teaser of the highly anticipated film "Amar Singh Chamkila." Directed by Imtiaz Ali and featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, the film delves into the untold true story of Punjab's original rockstar, Amar Singh Chamkila, who defied poverty to become a sensational figure in the 80s music scene.

On May 30, Netflix unveiled the mesmerizing teaser, providing a glimpse into the life of Amar Singh Chamkila.

Despite being tragically assassinated at the tender age of 27, Chamkila remains revered as one of Punjab's greatest live-stage performers. The film's music is composed by the maestro himself, AR Rahman, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.

The teaser offers a tantalizing view of Diljit Dosanjh as he takes the stage, greeted by a small but enthusiastic audience. Moreover, both Diljit and Parineeti have lent their melodious voices to some of the film's captivating songs, further elevating the anticipation for this musical extravaganza.

Netflix shared the teaser with the caption, "Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimaag pe chaaya hai woh ab aapke saamne aaya hai... Watch the untold story of Punjab's highest record-selling artist, Amar Singh Chamkila. Coming soon only on Netflix!"

Based on the life of the late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his second wife Amarjot Kaur, the film delves into their fateful story. Both Chamkila and Amarjot were tragically shot and killed on March 8, 1988, during a period of militancy in Punjab.

For the unversed, a petition was filed by Ishjeet Randhawa and Sanjot Randhawa, the sons of the deceased producer Gurdev Singh Randhawa, asserting that Chamkila's widow had granted the rights to their father to make the biopic of her husband in writing on October 12, 2012. An amount of Rs 5 lakh was also provided to her, with no specific time limit set for the production of the biopic.
