We all remember the amazing 'Dostana' of Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan from the 2008's and we would be thrilled if we saw a sequel. Well, we thought our wish just got granted as the grapevines were abuzz that Karan Johar has given his team a green signal about the sequel of Dostana.

Earlier the news as that Karan Johar is eyeing to make the sequel soon. Now since Priyanka Chopra is a birdie flying high in the US, Alia Bhatt will be the one playing the lead. A source close to Mumbai Mirror reported,"The conversation has begun, and Alia has liked the idea. She will hear the final script and close the formalities soon."

"Casting for her two male co-stars is presently underway after which Karan will make the final announcement. Preproduction on the film has also begun," said the report. But now a clarification from Karan Johar has came in and he has denied all the rumors.

In a Tweet karan wrote,"For the record...NO ONE has been officially approached for DOSTANA 2!!!! Some thoughts and ideas are underway but nothing official has moved..."

Alia will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy with Ranveer Singh. The movie is already creating great buzz and is expected to receive an exceptional response.

Alia has multiple releases lined up for next year and if Dostana 2 works out, she will have one more. She will also be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra and Karan Johar's Takht.
