Akshaye Khanna gets on board for Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 2

Ajay Devgn has wrapped up the first session of Abhishek Pathak's Drishyam 2 and is now working on his upcoming projects. Drishyam 2's seven-day schedule, which started last week, was staged in Navi Mumbai.  

Apart from Ajay and Tabu, the cast included a surprise addition: Akshaye Khanna, who joined the filming. This will be Ajay and Akshaye's fourth film together, and it will be the first time the two stars are working together in a film after 12 years.

According to report from a leading news portal, 

“Ajay and his family, as well as Tabu, pick up their quest from where they left it in Drishyam 2 (as in the Malayalam original version). When new evidence entangles their family in yet another set of troubles, Vijay is now presented as a rich businessman living a happy life with his family. He is hell-bent on defending his family at all costs. The foundation of the storey remains the same – how an ignorant man executes a brilliant strategy to save his family – but the plot has been adapted to pan-India sensibilities from here."

The report also added that it is not a supporting role but a proper one that has been written just for him and will probably stand out in terms of impact and performance.

Apparently, he plays a cop who is a close associate of Tabu and assists her in the investigation. Akshaye is said to play a tough, smart, savvy, sharp cop who is on Ajay’s tails and determined to pin the charge on him. 

The film was to begin shooting from the first week of January this year but it got delayed due to the third wave. 

After completing the first schedule of Drishyam 2, Ajay has moved to the shoot for Dharmendra Sharma’s Hindi remake of Kaithi, titled Bholaa, from this week. The movie is being shot in various locations in Mumbai.
