Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu faces roadblock; Subramanian Swamy issues a legal notice for 'misrepresenting' facts

Ram Setu, starring Akshay Kumar, is currently facing legal issues. The theatrical release of Ram Setu is slated for October 24, 2022, which also happens to be Diwali. Well now Subramanian Swamy, a BJP leader and former member of the Rajya Sabha, has since sent the film's creators a legal notice prior to the release of the movie.

On Sunday, Subramanian Swamy said that he has sent notices to Akshay and eight others to teach them 'intellectual property rights.' He tweeted, 

"Mumbai cinema [or is it sin-e-ma] wallas have a bad habit of falsifying and misappropriation. Hence to teach them Intellectual Property Rights, I have through Satya Sabharwal Adv issued Legal Notice to Cine Actor Akshay Kumar(Bhatia) and his 8 others for distorting the Ram Setu saga. "

Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev all played significant roles in the movie. The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma while Akshay's firm Cape of Good Films is a co-producer. Ram Setu follows an archaeologist investigating whether Ram Setu is a myth or a reality.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay will be next seen in Cuttputlli with Rakul Preet, Sargun Mehta, and Chandrachur Singh. The film is all set to premiere on September 2 on Disney+ Hotstar. It is said to be the remake of the Tamil film, Ratsasan. Post that, Akshay has Ram Setu, Oh My God! 2 and Capsule Gill lined up for release.
