Akshay Kumar felt Insulted at a National Award function, Recalls the Incident

The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, is one of the most successful actors today and in his career spanning over 30 years, he has never failed to impress the audience and his fans with his blockbuster performances. 

Delivering a 100 crore movie on the box office might be a challenge for many actors, but not for Akki. Having delivered a bunch of super hit blockbusters in the past, the actor is ready for more. He has an extensive line up of movies ahead - Bachchan Pandey, Laxmmi Bomb, Good News,  Housefull 4 and Sooryavanshi.

Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film titled Good Newwz that stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanj in lead roles. During the recent promotions, he shared an incident when he first received a National Award and felt insulted while talking to a girl. 

“At my first National Award, a girl sat next to me, and told me that she’s a huge fan, congratulated me for my win. She asked me how many films have I done, I said 137. I asked her the same question and it was her first film, and she was winning a National Award for it. Kaise mera insult ho gaya”, recalled Akshay Kumar.

Besides, Akki was also asked if he wishes to join politics, to which he replied saying, “Never, I want to be happy. I love films and I contribute to my country through my films. This is my job.”

The superstar also spoke about his idea of nationalism and said, “I don’t believe in thinking about what the country has given you, but what you can give to the country. For example, you pick a captain of a cricket team, and now it is the team’s responsibility to listen to him. Follow the leader. Koi bhi party ka ho, let him lead the country, because chuna toh aap hi logon ne hai.”

Speaking of Good Newwz, it is a comedy film about two couples tryst with in vitro fertilisation and is slated to release on 27 December 2019.
