Akshay Kumar Begins Shooting Outdoors Amid Pandemic; Alia Bhatt To Resume Soon Too

The lockdown continues to roll on but considering times have been difficult and there has been almost no work in the past couple of months, many industries are slowly and steadily resuming work.

Always a frontrunner in many ways, actor Akshay Kumar also became amongst the first ones to start shooting outdoors amid the pandemic, however, with all the necessary precautions and safety measures.

Akshay Kumar shot for a government advertisement with filmmaker R Balki today at Kamalistan studio. The director-actor duo shot for the Ad at the famous Kamalistan studio in Mumbai with minimal crew. The crew present on the shoot location made sure they take proper precautions and maintain social distancing while on the sets. The report stated that the crew and cast completed the shoot in a matter of two hours, and made sure everyone wore masks and gloves while shooting for the Ayushman Bharat campaign.

In the report, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) general secretary, Ashok Dubey revealed that the necessary permission for the shoot was sought from the Commissioner of Police. He shared that the shoot took place with minimum crew members and talking about the on-set precautions, he added, “They had a sanitiser tunnel, masks, gloves, all the norms were followed according to the government.”

It is also being said that Alia Bhatt's shoot for Gangubai Kathiawadi will be amongst the first ones to resume as soon as the lockdown ends.

Dubey also mentioned that after the lockdown will be lifted, Alia Bhatt’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi is supposedly going to be the first films to go on floors. Talking about the shooting of the film resuming post lockdown, he said, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity and his set is still there. So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shoot with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM.” Dubey mentioned that as director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity, with his set already there, there’s a possibility the film might be first to go on floors after the permission is granted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
