Akshara Singh defends her 'age-shaming' comments against Shamita Shetty

We are only over a couple of days away from the finale of Bigg Boss OTT. The show was an experiment and with only being aired on Voot, the experiment has been fairly successful. The likes of Pratik Sehajpal, Divya Agarwal, Shamita Shetty, Neha Bhasin and others have managed to gain quite a lot of popularity while they continue to fight to win the OTT version.

However, with multiple contestants being eliminated in the journey so far, one of the shocking ones was that of actor Akshara Singh.

And while her stint in the show was a mixed bag, she created a stir outside the house with her comments on Shamita Shetty. The actor was criticized for making 'age-shaming' comments against Shetty but now she went on to defend the same in an interview with Bollywood Bubble.

She said, “I didn’t do age shaming, not at all. I gave her respect. If you ask me personally, if I will be talking about my mother that means I am combining her with my mother. It means that I’m respecting her, not the other way around. It’s a fact I can’t deny it. I actually saw her in school. When I was in class two I used to hear her songs, so how can I cover it and talk to her in a fake manner.”

She added,  “How can I do that. People have moulded the whole situation and given the name of age shaming. I would like to apologize if they understood my conversation as age shaming but that wasn’t my intention at all. I used to respect her but once she started dominating then I started to scream and argue with her because I feel that she is targeting me.”

Last month in the show, Shamita and Akshara had a verbal fight over a matter of the kitchen. The dispute escalated with Singh yelling, "She is as old as my mother, doesn't she have any manners? She's a very ill-mannered woman."

We wonder what will Shetty have to say once she comes out of the house.
