Ajaz Khan Gets Arrested For Controversial Remarks

The Khar Police has charged him under the 153A, 117 and 121 acts of the Indian Penal Code.

Actor Ajaz Khan was detained by the police today owing to several controversial statements he made recently in a Facebook Live session, according to a report in The Republic.

The statement made by him is as follows, “If an ant dies, a Muslim is responsible, if an elephant dies, a Muslim is responsible. If there is an earthquake in Delhi, a Muslim is responsible, i.e. a Muslim is responsible for any incident. But have you ever thought who is responsible for this conspiracy. This conspiracy is being practiced by BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party). "

This led to a buzz online and now, Khar Police has charged him under the 153A, 117 and 121 acts of the Indian Penal Code.

In the past too, Khan has been under scrutiny and at times, a lot of flak too owing to statements made by him on several issues. He was also arrested in July last year for posting objectionable videos that could allegedly have caused enmity among communities, police had said at the time.

@basherz - sorry i dont know how to reply weirdly but anyways, i did not know that and that is definitely disgusting but i stoll think theres a difference brtween saying something and doing something. If someone is arrested for simply saying something hurtful most of is should be in jail right now. If he actually went out and started infecting innocent people that deserves arrest for sure. I dont think people should ever be arrested for speech personally.

So he got arrested for freedom of speech? Is that allowed in india or not if it considers itself a democracy?

Also based on what he said about muslim blame and it being perpetuated by bjp, he isnt entirely wrong... So has india slowly turned itself over to a dictator? Cant speak out against him or youll be arrested?

I dont know modi. He def appears to do respectable and progressive things economically, structurally fir india which is great. Even in coronavirus handling im very impressed. But socially, he is regressive and oppressive.

To Mr. Kunal kothari writer of this article please write right reason why did he arrested. If you can write about Muslim line you can also write what he said in video. And here we go again with victim card. There is difference between criticism and wishing Corona for people. Either you don't know what he said or you don't want to write whatever is the reason. It is better not to writer. Be a sensible and responsible. Can't expect this from ajaz khan but atleast you can.

the prob is not about expressing your views but how you express them matters. There's a subtle way to put it. Being a celeb, he should know it better. Do you think its apt - when someone goes on record - saying isko carona ho jaye, usko ho jaye. Btw! this isn't the first time for him either. He has a history of it, sending lewd sms, msgs to ladies, journalists etc... Before defending him, watch his history. This genius had connection with Dawood's nephew too.

They'll arrest anyone who dares to speak the truth. Modi and his fascist Bharatiya Joker Party take great pleasure in oppressing minorities especially Muslims. Anything goes wrong, they always find a way to put the blame on Muslims. Modi's days are numbered. These Islamophobes have a painful punishment waiting for them.
