Actress Aishwarya Sakhuja is currently reveling in praises for her theatre debut Perfect Family. The plot of the play sees Aishwarya essay the role of Aarti, a chulbuli homemaker who finds herself in constant conflict with her husband, whose thought process is that there is only one way of running a household- His way. And with personalities clashing with one another like there’s no tomorrow, the play traces their life journey.

After having done quality work in the television industry, and also making her film debut with Ujda Chaman, we asked Aishwarya why she is yet to take up another daily soap. And to this, her answer was the age-old one- getting typecast. However, the actress is getting typecast for a new reason altogether- her height.

Says the actress, “I have done a variety of roles in my career so far. So it’s hard for me when I am put into a certain bracket because of how I look. I am tall, fit, and have sharp features. And that leads me to being typecast as a vamp. I want the audience to remember that I have done so much more than just vamp roles in my career. That too, I played a vamp in only one show. It sucks that people forget it. It’s not fair but such roadblocks only make me want to work harder. They motivate me to do work that reminds the audience that Aishwarya Sakhuja is more than capable of just playing a negative character.”
