Aishwarya Rai - Abhishek Bachchan to work in Abhimaan's remake?

The 1973 film, Abhimaan originally starred megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles. The story talked about the couple who are singers but get distanced when the wife becomes more successful than the husband. Apparently, the son and daughter-in-law who are the main leads will be essaying the same role in the remake too.

Interestingly, it will be for the third time for the actress to play a role of a singer post-Taal and her upcoming film Fanney Khan starring along with Anil Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao.

A source told a daily, "For a very long time, Abhishek and Aishwarya have wanted to do another film together. Abhimaan seems like a perfect vehicle to showcase their shared affections."

Apart from this, the Aishwarya and Abhishek will also be working together in a film called Gulab Jamun which will be directed by a new director and produced by Anurag Kashyap.

The duo has worked with each other in films like Kuch Naa Kaho, Dhoom 3, Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010). If the reports are to be true then the couple will be seen together after 7 years in the film.

While the original film starring Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan was appreciated amongst the viewers for their chemistry do you think Abhishek and Aishwarya will be able to create the same magic with the remake?
