Actor Pavitra Punia is doing exactly what she probably would have loved to do - being in news inside the house and being in news outside too. So far, apart from Nikki Tamboli, Punia is the only one who has made quite a mark and continues to do so. More so known for her infamous ugly break-up with Paras Chhabra, Punia recently was seen speaking to Jasmin Bhasin inside the house as she said, You’re not of that age now, you need to focus a lot on your career,” recalling what she'd told her ex, actor-model Pratik Sehajpal (of MTV Love School, Season 3). “Mere se chhote bhi ho aap. Ab isko mera baddapan samajh lo ya fir understanding samajh lo, mera aapke sath rehna aapke career ke liye galat tha kyunki main possessive hoke, main kisi cheez ko na pasand karke, aapka kam nahi suffer karvaungi."

While this was perceived by everyone in their own ways, Sehajpal opened up about it totally in an expose styled interview with ETimes. He said that his relationship was good with her but it had several clashes. This was only making things go downhill between the two and one of the many large fights they had was when Pratik was offered a role where he had to do a bold scene with his female co-star.

"These bold scenes have become so common in today's times and I am here to make my career. But trust me, I had refused the role and even told Pavitra about me turning it down." He says still, Pavitra fought with him on that. "I am not saying that her perspective in this was wrong. I guess it happens in love if you are too possessive," he says.

What about the fact that Pavitra says that he's too aggressive and had punched the wall once? "Look, I am not denying that I am aggressive. But Pavitra too is. I think when two such aggressive people meet, there's going to be an explosion. I remember she threw and broke a few things in her house- flower vase, table- when we quarreled once (towards the closing stages) at her house. To give vent to my frustration, I went down and punched the wall; my hand started bleeding."

He opened up on another major fight before he decided to move to Chandigarh from Delhi for a short break, "I met my mom and stayed with her. Pavitra kept calling me and I told her that I will come back but she needs to give me some time. After some time, she started avoiding my calls. I came to Mumbai and we spoke."

According to Pratik, they then met one evening at Pavitra's place and she told him that "it's not happening and they should part ways". Pratik informs, "I questioned her why but she was insistent and I had to let it go. And let me tell you that at that time, she didn't tell me that she wanted to break-up with me because my career was suffering because of her (as she told Jasmin)."

As for the buzz that he was living-in with Pavitra, Pratik countered, "No, we were not in a live-in relationship with her. But yes, I did stay over a few times at her place. I had issues about self-respect; I can't have a live-in."

Pavitra's possessiveness, Pratik says, extended to their outings as well. "For once, she didn't like it when I started talking to some senior person from a show. She wanted me to be around her for most of the time. But how can you avoid talking to people at parties?"

Their relationship lasted for less than a year after they started talking during Box Cricket League.  "She started talking to me and at one point, she said she likes me. Even I liked her. So why not? Let's try it out, I felt. Yes, I am focussed on my career but that doesn't mean that I don't have any time for love." The relationship blossomed and Pratik and Pavitra also travelled to Goa for a short holiday. "We both invested in our relationship a lot and equally. But frankly, the fights were not one but many."

Was Pratik heartbroken when Pavitra decided to end it? "I wouldn't say it was tough. I had invested a lot. So, well, I started working out and trying to divert my mind so that I stop thinking about it," he says.

Pratik's mother was in the loop about his relationship with Pavitra. "My mother trusts my decisions. But nobody gets to know when I break-up. With time, they (family) begin to realise that we aren't together and pop up the question if we're together anymore. It is only then that I tell them that it's over."

During the early days of their courtship, Pratik adds, Pavitra also wanted to know who was Pratik talking to and why. "Shuru mein tha usko aisa, but phir usne poochna bandh kar diya. But woh uski galti nahi hai. Main bhi possessive hoon."

While it would be interesting to know more about Pratik's possessive nature from Pavitra, Pratik also says that Pavitra's possessiveness might have happened as he is few years younger than her. "It might have happened because of that; the older person feels very protective about the younger one and thinks that his talent should help him make it instead of he taking a wrong step at any point. And the same might happen from the boy's side if he is older. And I am not complaining about her age. I can fall in love with someone who's 20 years older than me," he further views the parting pragmatically.

Is he going to Bigg Boss 14, eventually? "Frankly, nothing is decided yet," concluded Pratik but not before ruling out a reconciliation with Pavitra. "I don't think woh hoga. We have hardly spoken after our break-up."
