After boyfriend’s death, Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt talks about her traumatic experiences: The pain will always be there

Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt is an avid social media user and while she has kept her Instagram account private, she has more than 500 thousand followers on the photo sharing application.

Trishala likes to indulge in fun interactive sessions with her followers on social media an in one such recent session, she opened up about experiencing post-traumatic growth.

An user asked the 32 year old about what she values the most in her life, to which Trishala replied with a long note. She wrote, “All my traumatic experiences. Everyone hopes they'll avoid the worst life has to offer such as accidents, illness, loss or violence. Unfortunately, few of us will get through life unscathed. But it's not all bad news. Trauma can also be a powerful force for positive chance.”

“Post-traumatic growth can be transformative. Post-traumatic growth can be powerful” she added.

Trishala Dutt lost her Italian boyfriend on July 2, 2019. She, at several instances, had taken to social media to talk about her heartbreaking loss and how she grieved over her late boyfriend’s death for a year.

Speaking of the same, Trishala continued to write how dealing with major losses in her life helped her to become an improved version of herself. “For me personally, trauma sent me on a path I would have never found otherwise. Growth begins with healing from trauma and with that, people have the capacity to do far more than just heal. Given the right environment & mindset, again, for me personally, I can change using the trauma, the suffering & struggle that ensues as an opportunity to reflect, & search for meaning in my life to ultimately become a better version of myself,” she wrote.

To conclude her post, she wrote: “Instead of running away from it, I've learned to make friends with my trauma, loss, and pain. The goal is not to eliminate it because the pain will always be there. The goal is to manage it. And I'm okay with that.”

Trishala is Sanjay Dutt’s daughter from his first wife Richa Sharma and lives with her grandparents in the US. She is working as a psychotherapist in New York.

Sanjay Dutt is now married to Maanyata and the couple is parents to 9-year-old twins Shahraan and Iqra.
