Adam Sandler & Jimmy Fallon have teamed up on the online episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and went on to present a new COVID-19 anthem, warning grandchildren of all ages to keep away from their beloved nanas during the pandemic.
While the song doesn’t rival Sandler’s “Quarantine Song” – and finds the comic using that annoying idiot voice that you either find funny or really, really not – “Don’t Touch Grandma” offers some good advice (“learn to play Canasta from across the room”), and promises, “You still can smell her grandma smell from six feet away.”
Last week, Sandler debuted “Quarantine Song” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing it, with guitar, remotely from his home. In the musical tribute to the nation’s doctors and nurses (who “wear Crocs and they tell you the truth”), the former Saturday Night Live mainstay sings, “Doctors and nurses will save us from this mess/ If we get them the supplies that they need/And I hope they save us soon/ ‘Cause I’m really, really sick of my family”.
The song urges the country to provide ventilators and masks to the medical community, and reminds everyone to stay home to “make this damn thing go away.”
