Actor Gurpreet Sodhi on his divorce coming through after a decade

Given how relationships have gone on to become as fragile as they are in these testing times, to be hearing about separations and divorces has unfortunately become an almost regular occurrence. But seldom have we come across an instance where a divorce battle has gone on to last for almost a decade.

That's right. That has unfortunately been the case for actor Gurpreet Singh, who is best remembered for his role in Kahiin Toh Hoga. The actor and model-actress, Gurpreet Kaur Sodhi were involved in a tussle over their divorce for almost a decade.

Talking about it with ETimes, he said, "Oh, it’s a big relief. I don’t regret anything in my life, this was a learning experience. No one wants their relationships to end, but such is life... sometimes some things are beyond human control."

When asked if things could have been sorted amicably, he said, "If there was a single chance to do that, it would have been done. I tried my best to part ways and settle things amicably, but I think it was meant to go this way. Some people are not meant to live together and I would say that it’s better to live happily by getting separated."

When asked what impact it had on his career, he said, "It’s really difficult for anyone to concentrate and multi-task when you are going through a rough patch, for instance, a divorce case and a property matter. I am happy that I am through with the divorce and now I can concentrate on my career. I am not bitter, but a better person now. Relationships make you learn and unlearn a lot in life. I was less focused at times and my mind was affected during the court case. But I fought my battles and survived them."

Singh has also been a part of various others shows like Saarthi, Durgesh Nandini, and Maayka among others.
