Actor Abhishek Bachchan is all set to amaze his fans with a completely new avatar in his upcoming film Bob Biswas.

It was only a few days ago when several pictures of Abhishek Bachchan in his new look from the sets of Bob Biswas were leaked and went viral on the Internet in no time. He was shooting in Kolkata with co-actor Chitrangadha Singh when they were secretly papped and the pictures went viral.

However, the leaked pictures only added to the excitement around the thriller film as Abhishek looked almost unrecognisable in the new look with short hair, thick glasses and a stout frame.

Reacting to the pictures of his look being leaked, AB tells Mid-Day, "The media knew we were shooting in Kolkata. So, the photographers showed up at the venue. I would have loved for the look to come out the way Diya (Annapurna Ghosh, director) intended — during our marketing campaign."

On the other hand, the actor is also happy with the response on the look and says that he had to pile on some kilos for the character.

"The reaction was an endorsement that we are doing something right. I believe that if you look the character, half your job is done. In Kahaani, Bob Biswas (portrayed by Saswata Chatterjee) is portly, so I had to pile on the kilos. Maintaining the frame during the lockdown was difficult” he said.

Speaking of Bob Biswas, the film is a spin off of the central character of the 2012 film Kahaani. Directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film features Abhishek Bachchan along with Chitrangada Singh and Amar Upadhyay.
