Colors’ romantic drama Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka starring Drashti Dhami, Shakti Arora, Aditi Dev Sharma and Abhinav Shukla in prominent roles, was loved by the viewers for it’s different approach at love, not to forget the criticism that came with it for showing infidelity.

However, the show went off-air back in 2018, but actor Abhinav Shukla is still waiting to get his dues cleared. After tired of waiting around for two long years for his payment, the actor has finally dragged the makers to the court.

The actor’s contract with the production house had a clause stating that he would be given a month’s notice if and when the channel decided to axe his character. He joined the show in mid-May 2018, and things went smoothly for the following few months. However, on October 27, 2018, he received mail from the production house, stating that his contract had been terminated with immediate effect and he would no longer be a part of the show.

There was not just a breach of the contract but the actor was not paid his dues for October and November, which were his notice period. Now, the actor has finally filed a case against producers Comall and Sujoy Wadhwa.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Abhinav’s lawyer Suvigya Vidyarthi said, “Besides many other issues, including misinforming and misleading the channel that Abhinav wasn’t available for the shoot, thereby compelling them to cast another actor as his replacement, the production house has even breached the contract by going against the clause under which Abhinav had to be compulsorily given a termination notice of a month in advance about his exit. He worked during the month of October, for which he hasn’t been paid. He hasn’t got his dues for the month of November as well, as stipulated in the contract. He even approached the channel and Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) and a meeting was held between CINTAA and Indian Film and TV Producers Council (IFTPC) representing the two parties. However, the solution provided in the meeting wasn’t respected by the production house. Left with no other option, he moved to criminal court for registration of an FIR for the offences of cheating, fraud and extortion. The next hearing is in February.”

When contacted, producer Comall Wadhwa said, “We have not received any communication till date on any complaint being filed by anyone against us or our company.”
