Aamir Khan calls off Laal Singh Chaddha's Ladakh shoot amid rising tensions between India and China?

Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the most anticipated films of 2020, ever since the announcement. The shooting had already begun for Laal Singh Chaddha and pictures of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor are making the rounds on the internet.

Now, the film has once again seen trouble as the tensions between India and China continue to rise post the clash of soldiers at the Galwan Valley. Reportedly, 20 Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives for their country.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer, Laal Singh Chaddha’s  Ladakh shooting schedule has been called off amid the rising tensions between the two countries. Earlier, the shoot was put on hold due to the coronavirus scare. 

A Mid-Day report stated that Aamir discussed with director Advait Chandan and top officials at Viacom 18 Motion Pictures about the Indo-China situation and hence, may have decided to call off the Ladakh shoot. The production team along with Aamir have considered moving the shoot to Kargil in India, instead of Ladakh. 

Apart from that the PK actor does not want to put the cast and crew at risk of COVID 19. Hence, the Laal Singh Chaddha shoot has been held off for now.

The report also quoted a source saying, “Given the current scenario, shooting in Ladakh is out of the question. So, Aamir, Advait and the top brass at the studio are considering shifting the venue to Kargil. The final call will be taken in the coming weeks.”

The source also shared that post Aamir’s staff tested positive for Coronavirus, the actor does not want anyone in the crew to be at any risk. The source added, “He (Aamir) also pointed out that some countries that opened up are now experiencing a second wave of the virus. Though a significant portion of the movie remains to be filmed, the creators and the studio have unanimously decided to exercise caution and hold off the shoot for now.”

After 3 Idiots, fans will get to see the pair of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor once again in the film along with South superstar Vijay Setupathi, who will be seen in an important role in the film.

Written by Atul Kulkarni, the film is helmed by Advait Chandan and will be produced by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions. The movie is slated to hit the theatres during Christmas 2020, next year.
