A Hat-Trick of success for Imagine's Swayamvar

For the third time in three consecutive years, Imagine's flagship show  – "Swayamvar" has created TV viewership records. The finale of the recently concluded Swayamvar Season 3 - Ratan Ka Rishta clocked a whopping 5.1 TVR over three hours. This has easily eclipsed the finale ratings of other high profile reality shows like Priyanka Chopra's – Fear Factor 3 on Colors (2.7 TVR), Preity Zinta's Guinness World Records on Colors (1.5 TVR), Akshay Kumar's – Master Chef on Star Plus (4.2 TVR), Madhuri Dixit's – Jhalak Dikhla Ja on Sony (2.6TVR) amongst others, making it one of the most highly viewed GEC events of the year. The show peaked at a rating of 9.1 TVR when Ratan Rajput finally made her decision and chose Delhi's Abhinav Sharma as her life partner.

The expectations from the finale were high especially since the Mehendi (2.3 TVR) and Sangeet (2.8 TVR) episodes of the show last week had delivered high TVRs and surpassed shows featuring big Bollywood Stars like Akshay Kumar – Fear Factor (Colors) and Hrithik Roshan's Just Dance (Star Plus). Ratan Ka Rishta - Swayamvar Season 3 premiered on May 30, 2011 on Imagine TV and introduced Ratan Rajput as the bride of the season. The show saw many celebrities helping the bride to make the most important decision of her life. It also had many interesting tasks for the boys who left no stone unturned to woo Ratan. Finally it was Abhinav Sharma a software engineer from Delhi, who won Ratan's heart and was announced as the winner at a grand finale event held in Mumbai.

The previous two seasons of Swayamvar on Imagine TV had Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan seeking their perfect match. Both seasons had enthralled the nation and had equally successful finales with Season 1 garnering 8.1 TVR and Season 2 garnering 5.6 TVR.  Given the super performance of Season 3, Imagine is already in discussions to announce the launch of Swayamvar Season 4. The Question is – who will it be this time?
