Mentalhood

Mentalhood

This newly launched show by ALTBalaji and ZEE5 is like a fresh breath of air on new-age parenting and dealing with your stubborn teenagers. Mentalhood focuses on how six supermoms deal with the countless problems they have to face while bringing up their children. From balancing between their personal and professional lives, disciplining their kids, to helping them prepare for school, these mothers are shown handling the toughest of situations with a smile. Talk about teen trouble being no match for these supermoms, right? The story of the show also sheds light on how putting a restriction on these teenage kids and be over-controlling and over-compensating can make a situation go out of control. The show features Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor making her digital debut. Playing the role of Meira Sharma, a model from a small town, she along with her husband Anmol (played by Sanjay Suri) do their best to be the perfect dream-team for their children. The web-series also features Dino Morea as a stay-at-home dad named Aakash Fernandes, Sandhya Mridul as ‘Momzilla’ Anuja Joshi aka AJO. Portraying the workaholic mother in a commendable manner is Shilpa Shukla as Namrata Dalmia. The diversity amongst the mothers continues as Shruti Seth plays a spiritual mom named Diksha. And finally, we see Tillotama Shome as the super-hyper mother Preity Khosla who is on her toes all day.

As a teenager, the stage of puberty fills us with questions aplenty about our mood, emotions and the changes to our body. The show, currently streaming on Netflix, gives us these answers to these doubts that keep popping in a teenager’s curious mind. Mind The Malhotras

Mind the Malhotras

The show streaming on Amazon Prime Video is an enchanting watch for all stressed minds along with offering a heartfelt take on modern relationships and families struggling to find solace and perfection in their super-complicated lives. What follows is a series of embarrassing and bizarre events that will see you laugh your heart out.

Yeh Meri Family

Yeh Meri Family

Yeh Meri Family is a show based on the good old simple days of the ’90s and revolves around the typical Indian middle-class family. Set in the times where there was no internet and social media, the show explores the hardships in life along with celebrating the moments of joy as well as highlighting the relationship between parents and their kids. The show’s central character is 13-year-old Harshu Gupta who stays in UP along with his parents and two siblings. Harshu, a carefree boy, keeps falling into trouble at every occasion possible. As this comedy of errors continues, Harshu doesn’t lose heart and points out the flaws in his life and tries to overcome them in a much sillier manner. Actress Mona Singh plays the perfect mother to Harshu who every mother can relate to, while father Akarsh Khurana plays a very friendly father who is smart and calm at the same time. One can watch all the episodes on Netflix.
