Here's something interesting...
The concept of "Nathabati Anathbat" (Five Lords, No Protector) is NOT a dramatized distorted depiction of Draupadi's plight in the dice hall. The epic itself mentions it in passing when Draupadi narrates her plight to Krishna -

"'Saying this the mild-speeched Krishna hid her face with her soft hands like the buds of lotus, and began to weep. And the tears of Panchali begot of grief washed her deep, plump and graceful breasts crowned with auspicious marks. And wiping her eyes and sighing frequently she said these words angrily and in a choked voice, 'Husbands, or sons, or friends, or brothers, or father, have I none! Nor have I thee, O thou slayer of Madhu, for ye all, beholding me treated so cruelly by inferior foes, sit still unmoved! My grief at Karna's ridicule is incapable of being assuaged! On these grounds I deserve to be ever protected by thee, O Kesava, viz., our relationship, thy respect (for me), our friendship, and thy lordship (over me)"

(Translated in Hindi, it would mean - "Mere na pati hain, na putra, na mitra, na bhai, na pita")

Of course, it does not sound as dramatic as the visualization of the concept itself (one of the televised adaptations actually showed her temporarily disowning her husbands post-vastraharan).

I agree it could also be explained as her words coming out in anger and pain considering she even tells Krishna "Nor have I thee, O slayer of Madhu".

But, it is clear that the aftermath of the dice game and the start of the exile wasn't so pleasant with regards to the Pandava-Panchali equation - considering she actually says that she has no husbands (even if uttered in rage and pain).

And significantly, it is the very first thing she mentions before all other relations.

I have a doubt ;

Why did Kans kill Devaki's seven children when he knew that only the 8th child will become the bane of his existence? He could've raised those seven children , brainwashed them into being his trusted solders and could've made them fight against lord Krishna , Lord Krishna gave Gita gyan to Arjun to fight his own for upholding dharma , would he have done the same? (He would have , plus this could've added a layer to his Gita teachings where he speaks from.his personal experiences as well)......this has been going on in my head for a long time now.....

Sometimes i think of twisted stuff like this whem I'm boredsmiley36

To my knowledge, the first six sons of Mata Devaki were the grandsons of the Asura Hiranyakashipu, the sons of Kalanemi. It is said that they rejected his affection for Tapasya to Brahma, and so were cursed by their grandfather:

ShaDgarbhANAM varaM datvA svayaMbhUstridivaM gataH |

tato hiraNyakashipuH saroSho vAkyamabravIt ||2-2-20- Vishnu Parva, Harivamsa

After granting the boon to ShaDgarbhA, the self-born brahmA returned to his heavenly abode. Then hiraNyakashipu angrily spoke these words:

mAmutsR^ijya varo yasmAdvR^ito vaH padmasaMbhavAt |

tasmAdvastyAjitaH snehaH shatrubhUtAMstyajAmyaham ||2-2-21

Abandoning me, you have received boons from brahmA. Hence you have rejected my affection. I am rejecting you, who have become my enemies.

ShaDgarbhA iti yo.ayaM vaH shabdaH pitrAbhivardhitaH |

sa eva vo garbhagatAnpitA sarvAnvadhiShyati ||2-2-22

The same father who called you ShaDgarbhA and brought you up, will kill all of you when you are conceived.

ShaDeva devakIgarbhAH shaDgarbhA vai mahAsurAH |

bhaviShyatha tataH kaMso garbhasthAnvo vadhiShyati ||2-2-23

All six of you, great asura-s ShaDgarbhA will become devakI's conceptions. Then kaMsa, (incarnation of your father kAlanemi) will kill you at conception.

As Kamsa is Kalanemi, and the curse was so, Kamsa had to kill all six. The seventh of course, is Balarama Dau, who was taken from Mata Devaki's womb and transferred to Mata Rohini's.
