I am very calm and don’t take pressure about anything, not even social media- Ranndeep Rai

In the entertainment industry it is often said that ‘jo dikhta hai wahin biktha hai’ that is you need to be visible to be saleable. Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai actor Ranndeep R Rai agrees and shares his viewpoint on the same. 

 “I completely agree with it. The pressure is a lot more because everyone is curious about knowing and you’re always worried about what to put and what not to put out in the world, whether people will like it or not and so on,” he says.

While one can reveal all that they want on social media, not everything about every celeb grabs attention. This sometimes adds on to the pressure of expectation.

“I think it is human nature to just know everything and be very curious to know about other people. But on social media, everyone is aware about everything. I feel we need to gain more knowledge on a particular topic before commenting on it,” he adds.

Actors who have no attention grabbing intention, mind their own business, and maybe sometimes go unnoticed in spite of doing good work. This is another point that Ranndeep agrees with. 

“After Yeh Un Dino Ki baat hai I was active on social media for a couple of months but then I realised this is not something I want to do. I wanted to act in front of the camera though I am not against anything on social media. But it’s difficult for me to stay connected on social media because I am really not that active,” he shares.

Actors are going through a lot of professional pressures, be it taking up a project, social media, competition, insecurities, looks or audience reactions to their work. On how he handles the pressure, Ranndeep adds, “I think I am very calm and don’t take pressure about anything, not even social media. Even though earlier when I was quite active on social media and used to get superb reach, yet I took a step back without any burden. I only take/sign a work when I feel the onscreen part I am supposed to play from my heart. As then only I can do my work wholeheartedly.”

One should be ambitious to be successful but how much is too much. “It’s amazing to be ambitious. For me I know what my limitations and boundaries are. But I would never overstep on my dreams,” he states.

So, are you satisfied with the way your career is shaping up? “Yes I am. It’s like I have just started practising and I am yet to play the match. So maybe in 2023 I am going to be more serious about my projects,” he answers.
