The recent firing incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan's residence on April 14th sent shockwaves across the nation. In the aftermath, two shooters were swiftly arrested, followed by the apprehension of two arms suppliers linked to the case.

However, the situation took a grim turn when Anuj Thapan, one of the accused arms suppliers, was reported to have died by suicide while in police custody. In a statement to ANI, Abhishek Thapan, Anuj's brother, raised suspicions about his death, he stated, “Anuj was taken by Mumbai Police from Sangrur 6-7 days ago. Today, we received a call that Anuj had committed suicide.”

Alleging foul play by the police, he continued, “He was not the kind who could have committed suicide. He was murdered by police. We want justice. He worked as a truck helper."

Adding to the controversy, Manoj Godara, the Sarpanch of Anuj's native village, expressed skepticism about the circumstances surrounding Anuj's death. Demanding for Thapan’s post-mortem to be conducted outside Mumbai, the Sarpanch said, “The family is demanding justice. His post-mortem should be done outside this state because Salman Khan has influence in Mumbai. Whenever he hears Bishnoi name, he gets scared.”

The family's demands for justice include conducting Thapan's post-mortem outside Mumbai, citing concerns about potential influence due to Salman Khan's presence in the city. They question the police's actions and emphasize the need for transparency and accountability in the handling of the case.

Rajnish, the uncle of Anuj Thapan, revealed to the mentioned news outlet that they received news of Anuj's arrest over the phone a day after he was taken into police custody. Rajnish said, “Today, we were informed that he died by suicide. When we asked how he died, they didn't say anything and cut the phone. We should get justice. Even if he was guilty, the court should have punished him. What right the police had to kill him.”

The firing incident, which occurred outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments, led to the arrest of the shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, as well as the subsequent apprehension of arms suppliers, including Anuj Thapan. The police investigation revealed a possible connection between the arms suppliers and the Bishnoi gang, further complicating the case.
