Manoj Bajpayee shares heartfelt account of his father's last moments during film shoot

Manoj Bajpayee, the celebrated Indian actor, has traversed a challenging path to success, marked by personal hardships and professional triumphs. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, he shared a poignant anecdote about the emotional turmoil he faced while bidding farewell to his ailing father during the filming of "Killer Soup."

Reflecting on the loss of both his parents within six months, Manoj revealed the heart-wrenching moment when he had to urge his father, RK Bajpayee, to peacefully embrace death and release himself from suffering.

Despite being miles away in Kerala for the shoot, Manoj's bond with his father remained strong. He recounted how, amidst his shooting commitments, he longed to return to his father's side. However, fate had other plans.

As his father's health deteriorated, Manoj received sombre news from his sister.

The scene, unfolding in front of his spot boy, encapsulated the depth of Manoj's grief. With a heavy heart, he said, “This was the exact time when I was supposed to give a shot for Killer Soup and my spot boy was in the van. In front of him, I was talking to my father and I told him, ‘Bauji aap jaeye, bauji hogaeya (Father please go, it is time) and it was heartbreaking for me. My spot boy started crying, howling and I was going for my shot. That was the toughest moment for me but I dealt with it and early morning the next day, my father left."

Despite the anguish, Manoj summoned the strength to carry on, fulfilling his professional obligations while grappling with personal loss. The next morning, his father peacefully departed, leaving behind a void that Manoj continues to carry in his heart.

Manoj Bajpayee's journey is a testament to resilience in the face of adversity. The actor was last seen in the film Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.
